Registration Structure

Power Surge X Amateur Day operates through structured registration windows.

International Athlete Registration Opens:

Opens March 2nd, 2026

International athletes are provided early access to allow adequate time for travel planning and logistics.

General Registration Opens:

March 26th, 2026 at 7:00 PM CST

Registration is first come, first served.

The competition is limited to 60 lifters. Once capacity is reached, a waitlist will open.

All registrations are final. Please confirm availability before registering.

Event Overview

Power Surge X – Amateur Day provides a professionally run competition built for lifters ready to step onto the platform.

There is no qualifying total required for Amateur Day.

Athlete spots are intentionally limited to preserve meet flow, production quality, and athlete experience.

This competition serves as a proving ground within the Power Surge platform and offers advancement opportunity for standout performances.

Federation

This is a sanctioned PLU powerlifting meet conducted under current federation rules.

An active PLU membership is required to compete but is not required at the time of registration. Membership must be valid by weigh ins.

Divisions

Drug tested and untested divisions will be offered.

Athletes will compete within their declared division and weight class.

All competition will follow current PLU standards and procedures.

Session Format

All Amateur Day athletes compete on Sunday, October 4th.

Two sessions will be held.

Final session assignments will be based on registration totals and division distribution.

The official session schedule will be released after registration closes.

Athletes will receive assignments via email. Minor adjustments may occur to maintain balanced flights and efficient execution.

Weigh Ins

24 hour weigh ins will take place the day before competition.

Primary windows will align with assigned sessions.

Detailed weigh in instructions will be sent to registered athletes closer to the event.

Athletes are encouraged to attend the weigh in window aligned with their assigned session to ensure an efficient check in process.

Equipment & Platform

Competition will be conducted using federation approved equipment.

Athletes may squat from:

• Monolift (walkouts permitted)

• Texas Combo Rack

Bars used:

• Squat Bar

• Power Bar

• Texas Deadlift Bar

Awards

Awards will be presented to the top three finishers in each weight class within both tested and untested divisions.

Two Overall Champion Belts will be awarded:

• Overall Male Champion – Highest DOTS of the day

• Overall Female Champion – Highest DOTS of the day

Overall champions will also receive a first round invitation to Power Surge Pro Day 2027.

Athlete Communication

All official meet communication will be sent via email to registered athletes.

This includes:

• Session assignments

• Flight order

• Weigh in instructions

• Event logistics

Athletes are responsible for monitoring their email for updates.
